When Did Kali Yuga Start?

kali yuga astrology

There are several index dates to determine the beginning of the Kali-Yuga. As stated in Surya Siddhanta, Kali Yuga began at midnight (00:00:00 LMT) on 18 February 3102 BCE on the proleptic Julian calendar, and 23 January 3102 BCE on the proleptic Gregorian one. This date is also considered by many Hindus to be the day when Krishna left the mortal world to return to his celestial abode. According to Surya Siddhanta and Jyotisha Shastra, tradition says that the planets Saturn, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Mercury as well as the Sun and the Moon were all situated near the nakshatra Revati (view zoomable chart wheel). >> More Info
